Awesome Foundation Oahu is thrilled to grant $1,000 to our December recipient, YMCA Camp Erdman. Camp Erdman is located in Ke'ana Point State park on the North Shore of Oahu. They offer environmental education, leadership, recreational, and team building programs to youth, schools, and adults.

Camp Erdman would like to create a Nature Room to be shared with keiki and all visitors of Camp Erdman. A Nature Room would allow them to show the improtance of the North Shore and the rest of the island with their guests. The plan is to turn an unused indoor space (shown pictured above) into an interactive nature center to use with all the clients they serve at camp. One important subject they would teach is the connection between people and the islands. The Nature Room would provide an easy way for keiki to visualize, connect, and interpret the environment.  It is a perfect sensory experience for all learners.

Awesome's $1,000 check will go to use to help remodel the room. It will purchase paint and painting supplies,  new teaching materials for students, groups, and campers. The money would also help to label each item in the Nature Room with their Hawaiian name.

Awesome Foundation Oahu is proud to promote awareness and education of our sacred islands and how better to protect them and the environment around us.

If you have never been to Camp Erdman it is truly an experience you won't forget! Mahalo for all you do!
